Will There be an October Surprise?
I have been hearing this phrase for almost two months now. I still do not know what it means, but October is here, and I will soon know the meaning of this message. This month is full of opportunities and challenges. We will have opportunities to clear up major karmic baggage, and we will be challenge to take the responsibility to do the work to open our path to higher levels of spiritual functioning.
The Fall Equinox brought some chaotic energy with it, but also brought the beginning of a three-month infusion of Light to the Earth.
There is a lot happening this month, so this report will be in two installments. From September 22nd – October 5th, things will be stormy. We have the chance to break long-standing patterns that no longer serve us, and this will be a challenge for some. This is an excellent time for flexibility and to just go with the flow. Someone said once that resistance is futile, and in this instance, I agree. Surrender is our best choice at this time.
For those of us who have been waiting for change, there is some good news. The waiting is over. I remind you that change is not always easy, so remember to breathe and stay centered. The blessing is that we have finally reached the end of the long period of waiting and uncertainty. Now we will finally begin to see where this trajectory we have put ourselves on will lead us.
As Saturn, the planet of destiny, continues to push us towards our collective goal, we must remain aware that our karmic debts – individually and collectively – are coming due and must be repaid whether we like it or not. There is a Divine Plan in play here, however, so keep that in your mind as we move through October.
Things will intensify when Saturn moves into Scorpio on October 5th. With the energy of Scorpio, there is no ‘gray’. It is about extremes. Saturn’s move from Libra into Scorpio will bring reward to those who have their feet set upon the right path, and there may even be a celebratory energy about it. For those who have not yet found their way, they may have the opportunity to start all over again from nothing, with nothing. With either experience, it is all karmic.
We will reap what we sow, and it is harvest time. If we sow discord, disharmony and chaos, we will reap it as well, and with Saturn positioned in Scorpio, there is no hiding from our destiny, whatever destiny it is we have crafted for ourselves. We cannot blame anyone but ourselves and the choices we have made for the outcome.
This month, Uranus squares Pluto, which is Scorpio’s ruling planet. If you have been clearing out stuff and you haven’t understood why you feel driven to do so, this could be the reason. This heavenly influence can help you clear out what is no longer working in your world. It is a good time to ask yourself what is destiny trying to teach me? especially if things are not going right in your life.
It is an excellent time to finish that clearing out you started. Delete everything that you would consider is excess baggage in your life. If it doesn’t have a purpose, it must go. Realize that it is this excess baggage that has been holding you back.
Saturn’s move into Scorpio begins a two-year cycle of opportunity to clean your emotional and financial houses. For those who have been dragging their feet about doing the emotional work that is a part of any spiritual path, now is the time to commit to yourself. Learning to work effectively with others to accomplish a group goal is also important at this time. It is not about working with others in the same old standard way, however.
We must begin to look at our lives from a wider perspective, thus empowering ourselves to aim higher and set our intentions with greater clarity of purpose. This energy cycle of Saturn is asking us to move into a closer, more personal experience with the core of our being, with our Christed self. If you are not ready for this level of connection, then this is a wonderful time to work on transforming the dark side within.
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
