Have a Cup of Hot Chocolate Today
There is something soothing about a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream. Perhaps its the constituent components of the chocolate or the delicate sweetness of the whipped cream, or the unbeatable combination of the two. This time of year can be stressful, so today its cocoa time.
So what is stress, exactly? It’s the body’s reaction to a change that requires a physical, mental or emotional adjustment or response. Stress can come from a situation or even a thought or thought pattern that triggers feelings of frustration, anger, nervousness or anxiety. Is it the situation or the person or the thought that is the actual cause of the stress? No.
It is our response that activates the cascade of physical reactions in the body that manifest as “stress”. As we head into this time of year, perhaps we can take a moment to formulate a strategy to deal with what is often a challenging period for many of us. I will be posting a longer article this evening that will provide some helpful suggestions you might want to remind yourself of as you consider how you can best prepare in order to stay healthier this season. For now, have another sip of that cocoa.
