Morning Coffee

I was up before the first bird began to sing the sun awake this morning. In the quiet before the rest of the world gets going, I brewed my cup of coffee and came here, feeling the need to write something. Now I wait for inspiration to come.

Something’s coming. I can feel it when I quiet myself. There is an undercurrent of restlessness that moves beneath the surface. I cannot tell whether this is anticipation or anxiety. Seems only the passage of time will show me which it is.

What do you do when you are picking something up on your radar? Do you lean into it or ignore it? I would encourage you to lean into it. Engaging your subtle senses will strengthen them, and will help you become more aware of when – as Obi-Wan said – there is a disturbance in the Force.

It’s also helpful to note that this nebulous sense is either personal or something up in the collective consciousness. If you lean in and explore the feeling, you will be able to determine which it is. This can help you handle whatever is headed your way. If it’s personal, you are prepared. If it’s something in the collective, you are prepared.

This feels to me like something’s happening in the collective. I took a moment to explore what’s up in the world of crop circles of late, and came across a recent formation that appeared in late May of this year:

Vesica Piscis

It resembles a Vesica Piscis, a pointed oval figure resulting from the intersection of two circles. The Vesica Piscis predates all major religions. The supreme being is often represented by a sphere, wholeness. The addition of a second sphere represents unity expanding into duality. Where the two spheres overlap, the Vesica Piscis is formed and represents the joining of the God and Goddess to create an offspring. As the basic motif in the Flower of Life, it also is a symbol of the vagina of the feminine goddess. This is also the symbol for Jesus Christ, and is the source of immense power and energy.

A Vesica Piscis is the geometric image through which Light is created.

In 1996, a Vesica Piscis crop circle appeared at Asbury in England. In retrospect, I feel it sends a message about the beginning of a germination process. The center shows a circular shape, a seeding, perhaps?:

The most recent crop circle is more detailed, and one can imagine that something, or someone, is being born. Notice the figure in the center, radiating Light:

The image brings to mind the Hourglass Nebula as photographed by Hubble:

Notice the pointed oval shape where the two circles intersect and the Light bursting forth from the center. A Vesica Piscis represents in a general sense a womb or a GATEWAY between orders of being and is a doorway between worlds.

Remember the axiom ‘As above, so below.’ and apply it here. I want to add an expanded image of the newest crop circle:

The Vesica Piscis image (to the left in the photo) with the light-filled figure emerging from the center appeared on a hill across from the Cerne Abbas Giant, (seen on the far right) a male figure near the village of Cerne Abbas in Dorsett, England. The figure is a large  turf-cut outline filled with chalk depicting a naked man with an erection carrying a club. (I remember that we’ve been told  there would be handwriting on the wall, and that those who have eyes will see.)

I see a message of hope here. I see a message that speaks to the imminent delivery of Light to this planet through the doorway between the dimensions. The God and the Goddess have joined their energies and the delivery is underway.

Is the disturbance in the Force a sign of something wonderful? Remember the birthing process is messy, but the outcome is always beautiful. We are the midwives. Time to roll up our sleeves.

The coffee cup’s been empty for a while, but once I got started, I had to finish it. Until next time, don’t forget to lean into those promptings from Spirit.

A human being is a part of the whole called by us (the) universe. ~A. Einstein

Look to the Sky – Moon Makes Biggest Appearance Since 1948

supmoon2016aThe supermoon that will fill the night sky Nov 13th (and 14th, if you miss it tonight) is the largest since Israel became a nation. It is the second in a series of three supermoons that close out this most pivotal year. December 14th will be the last one in the series.

The energy of a supermoon creates a surge of energy, and based upon where the moon falls can affect certain areas of our lives. This moon is activating the polarity of need/comfort (Taurus) versus desire/outside the box (Scorpio).

Full moons always tend to either close things out OR take them to a new level. During this time, don’t be surprised if you are more emotional, experience disturbances, or heightened dreaming. Your sensitivity and intuition may also be heightened at this time. Make sure to keep yourself balanced by maintaining a connection to the natural world and by using any grounding techniques you are familiar with.

Thankfully, the energy of this supermoon is harmonious and supportive. There is a Pluto/Chiron influence that supports healing. This is an opportunity for resolution of some deep, soul-level pain. It is an excellent time to consider where in our lives we need to accept the things we cannot change and acknowledge the lessons we’ve learned that we can build a new future for ourselves with.

Take some time to write about the things you need to let go of, whether physical or emotional. Get clear about what really matters to you. What do you value the most in your life? What do you need to feel more stable? Think about the friends, family and other resources you can call upon when you need to. Spend a moment being grateful for those things, those people.

If you are feeling exhausted, don’t forget to take care of yourself, even if it means putting your feet up, wrapping yourself in a blanket and spending some time with a book and a cup of hot cocoa.

Find a place with a clear view of the night sky away from light pollution. take a deep breath, and spend a few moments allowing the light of the moon to wash through your energy field. Absorb what you need, and let what you no longer need gently flow out into the earth.

The next time you will have a chance to see a moon like this one is November 25, 2034.

The moon will guide you through the night with her brightness, but she will always dwell in the darkness in order to be seen.                                                            ~Shannon L. Alder

Innocence Lost – 15 Years Later

Never Forget. Photographer unknown.

Never Forget. Photographer unknown.

Yesterday the sky was a beautiful blue, just like that day a decade and a half now passed. It was a perfect early September day. The temperature was comfortable, and the morning air had a hint of the approaching Fall crispness about it.

A major difference was that yesterday, when I looked up to admire that clear, crystalline blue sky, I saw contrails of planes flying above me. There was a day not so long ago that the sky was empty, and our nation was in shock.

The miracle that happened from that collective experience was that we came together in our common grief and pain. We must not allow this sacrifice to be forgotten. Today, I stop a moment to honor the over 3,000 souls that rose into a beautiful September sky. I will not forget.

There are memories that time does not erase…Forever does not make loss forgettable, only bearable. ~Cassandra Clare

Brother Crow – A Full Circle Moment

When I was on the West Coast recently visiting my daughter, I had a powerful experience that I know was a full-circle moment. I know there is a powerful message there for me, and I wait for it to be revealed in the fullness of time.

CrowbywaterYes, it involves another encounter with one of my closest Spirit Animal allies: Crow. You can find the story of my first encounter with crow here. Over the years, I have had more than one luminous, unusual encounter with the power of Crow Medicine. This month, I encountered Crow in the very same fashion as when I first walked past the crow that was lying dead in the gutter by the curb.

I threw my back out while visiting my daughter and needed to drive to Tacoma (the town I lived in when I was opened back up to the Voice of Spirit). The chiropractor that used to treat me when I was in the military still practices there, and is always happy to squeeze me in if needed. Now, I could have gone with my daughter and her boyfriend, but if I had, I doubt I would have had the experience I did.

I arrived in Tacoma early for my appointment, and there was a Starbuck’s across the street, so I went over to the store to get a coffee and something to snack on. I didn’t want to sit in the store because it was a wonderful day and I didn’t want to sit in the parking lot, either. I got in the car and drove slowly – I now realize I was following Spirit -until I came to a place behind a box store where there were some trees and some shade where I could eat my breakfast sandwich.

As I pulled up to park under the trees, I was shocked to see a crow lying in the parking lot. It had obviously been recently hit as the blood pooling underneath the creature was still bright red. I was overcome with a full-on sense of time wrapping back upon itself somehow, and knew this was NOT an accident. I finished my snack, then used the bag the sandwich came in to pick the bird up and put it in the ivy growing under the trees  where I was parked. I apologized to the bird that I could not do more in the moment. It was better than leaving the bird lying on the pavement in the sun.

As I drove away to the appointment, I felt as if I were in two times at once, pondering the odds that I would 1) be in Tacoma, 2) go to the chiropractor while I was there, and 3) find a dead crow that needed my help. Again.

If I hadn’t thrown my back out, I would not have needed to drive to Tacoma. If I hadn’t arrived so early, I wouldn’t have had time to kill. If I hadn’t been hungry, I wouldn’t have stopped at the store, I would have waited in the office. If it hadn’t been such a nice day, I would have eaten the meal in the store. The timing was perfect, and I did follow the subtle current of energy that was gently leading me.

To the crow that gave its life so I could receive my message, I give thanks. And I will do my best to hear it so that your sacrifice is not wasted.

Since our waking life can be worked in the same way or sleep dreams can, I will share what I learn when I work this experience with my dream Teacher next month. Until then, thank you, brother Crow, for your constant companionship on my spiritual journey.

My Best Mother’s Day Gift Ever

It’s Mother’s Day, and children of all ages all around the world are giving their mothers gifts. When I stopped at the store today, the people in the floral department could barely keep up with demand, filling the buckets as quickly as they were emptied by sons and daughters buying flowers for their mothers.

BouquetSo, mothers, what is your favorite Mother’s Day gift? I’ll start. I went for a short walk with my adult daughter this morning. I noticed something different about how she moved. Her arms moved in opposition to her feet, and my heart  filled with joy. I received two gifts this Mother’s Day: I am with my daughter. I saw my child walk like everyone else.

Without going into the details of why this is so significant, just know that it is, and that it is the greatest gift a mother could ever receive, because it comes wrapped in hope for a bright, beautiful future for her. And isn’t that what all mothers wish for their children?

I think that the best thing we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their own terms…let them be better people, let them believe more in themselves. ~C. JoyBell C.
